My First Time...

Today was my first time driving across the Bay Bridge by myself. I'm a big girl now! Traffic was hell, but not as bad as SoCal.

Disgusting

One of the most disgusting things ever...little pageant girls. I was flipping channels and stopped at VH1, it was little beauties: ultimate kiddie queen showdown. I recently saw Little Miss Sunshine and I thought it was an ok movie, but to see those little girls all dressed up made be cringe and feel uneasy. Yes, they look cute and mature but in a sick twisted way.

Please don't do this to your daughters or if you do don't make them look like miniature adults.

What I Love About San Francisco

One thing I love about San Francisco is that it is not littered with fast food places. (They are places because they are definitely not restaurants). It is pretty disgusting to see cities like Los Angeles have fast food places at almost every corner. Take a look for yourself at Fast Food Maps. You might even want to use the map as a reference to check out where your fave place is.

Fast Food Counter
San Francisco - 68
Sacramento - 127
North Orange County - 265 (Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma, Orange, Placentia, Stanton, Yorba Linda)
Los Angeles - 309

Fast Food Maps is a combo of Google Maps and someone's efforts to map all fast food places around the world. Check it out and see what is in your area.

New Modern Bento Box

Wouldn't you like to have your neatly packed lunch in a bento box like this. The box goes for $38 dollars from Plastica. A little steep for a fancy lunch box, but still very cute.

Now You Don't Have to Pop A Squat

Have you ever had to pop a squat? Well, you don't have to now. Here is a portable seat for you to do your biz. BioToi is a portable toilet. You can take it where every you need to. The BioToi uses 100% biodegradable Bio-Bags. It will take 40 days for the bag to decompose and will melt and decompose at 248degrees F.

Cha for Tea

So have you ever had Cha? If you have, have you ever had Cha for Tea? Well you are missing out. I met up with mda to hear about his new "internet marking job" and we went down to Cha in LB. And of course besides the Love Potion #6 and Strawberry Green Milk Tea we played a couple of games of chess. Tonight they had a really coffee house feel to it. They were playing some jazz music mixed with other modern day songs. I was enjoying it very much especially because I won my second game ever. Yay! But, I am not going to really count it as a win. I got a lot of help. Thank mda!

Well you should visit Cha for Tea. Sadly the ones in the US are in SoCal.

Strawberry Stuffed Donuts at The Donut Man

Have you ever seen a strawberry donut like this? This is the second time I have seen this particular donut online. I want one now. I read the first review on Wandering Chopsticks and the second in Grub in LA. They are $2.50 each. Kind of expensive but look at all of those strawberries. I'd say it is totally worth it. So, in the near future I will be visiting The Donut Man. If not I will have to wait for their peach donut.

Random #1

Look mda and I saw this.

Recycled Items Made into Clothing

Would you wear clothing that was made from recycled material? Mom always talks about how fleece is made from soda bottles, so maybe we already do.

All of those water bottles not only do harm to the earth but they just become junk after people throw them away in the trash instead of recycling them. For all that do not know, in some states like California we pay a CRV tax when we purchase items that have recyclable containers. And you can be refunded if you take your item to a recycling center. Recycling is not as crazy as you think. It might be time consuming and sticky but that is about it. All of those old ladies from Chinatown do it and my dad does too. Sad to say, I myself do not recycle but I have no problem going trough the trash to help lo out and picking up the bottles at the eag.

The shorts in the pic above is made from recycled soda bottles. They are from Patagonia and have styles for men and women. The downside is that you will have to collect a lot of bottles and cans to pay for the recycled clothes.

(I hope you know that anything that is underlined is a link. You can check out what I am looking at.)

What is that thing?

Did you get it yet?

Its an artichoke. I found this on eternallycool.net. Who knew that my favorite veggie turned into a flower when it goes uneaten.

Pretty don't you think?

Moon & Stars Watermelon

Look it's watermelon!? Not just any watermelon a moon and stars watermelon. The skin is suppose to be a dark green color, it looks black to me, and the meat obviously is the same as a regular watermelon. The little yellow spots are called stars and the big spots are called moons. Cute huh!

I wanna try one.

I will be staying here...

...the Kendall Hotel. Not sure when, but I am. The website says that it is the only historic hotel in Cambridge, MA. I guess back in the day, 1894, it was a firehouse named Engine 7. In 1993 it closed because it was all tore up, no one took care of it.

"Included in all room rates are some of the most comfortable beds in Boston, and a lavish breakfast buffet, featuring homemade scones, muffins, bagels, homemade granola, yogurt, as well as hot breakfast items including scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon as well as items that change regularly." (Kendall Hotel History)

I can't wait to go there now. The sky in this pic is so pretty.

I just found out that I will be staying at the Wachusett Village Inn too. Now it doesn't have the history like the Kendall Hotel does but it kind of looks cute, independent but more commercial.

Bored at work...

...so my coworker and I were playing dominoes. She said that this CocaCola domino set that we were playing with is a collectible. What do you think?

La Jolla and San Diego Adventures

On Friday jw and I went to La Jolla to hang out. The first thing on our list was to go to Museum Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla.

This time we were unable to visit the museum because they were updating the exhibits. We were only able to check on the garden exhibits which were closed last time. The great thing about this place is that it is FREE! to people under 25.

Here is a bear (I know he looks weird just read on). I think the plaque on the bottom said that this was a tribute to a bear that was burnt in a fire. So his arms are wrapped in casts.

With nothing to do we just roamed around the shops, galleries, and stumbled upon The Cave Store. ma had heard from someone that there was a store in one of the caves and I think we found it.

On the way down. (I didn't take very many pics. Thank jw for the pics)

The cave had my fave pigeons! EWW! I am allergic to live birds.
***The faint beware below is a pic of a dead seal we saw. Sad isn't it.***

The only downside to this cave is that it cost $4 to go in. But now I can say that I have been in a $4 cave. There wasn't much to see. It smelled bad (I think because of the seal) and there was bird poop everywhere.

After the caves we went to Balboa Park in San Diego next to the Zoo. We just walked all over. Not much to see because we were a little late. Everything closed at 4:30. Then as we were figuring out what to do we decided to exit at Old Town., the three of us have never been there. Our goal was to go to the haunted Whaley House, but it was $10 adults. For 3 poor college students we decided to pass. We explored Old Town and to our surprise there was a state park. There wasn't really much to see most of the stores there were very touristy. But very interesting and again FREE.

The day ended with dinner in Irvine at Sam Woo then my new fave Cha for Tea.

Thanks jw I had a great time. Too bad tk couldn't come with us.
